1948年。 海辺と思われる。 鉄製のドラム缶が大きな岩と小さな岩の間に挟まっているのが見える。第２次世界大戦中および戦後、このようなドラム缶が、沖縄本島全土で海岸に打ち上げられていた。ドラム缶には、食べ物や石油など、様々なものが入っていた。機知に富む地元民は、空のドラム缶を様々な用途に利用した。クリスターソン夫人は、彼女の父がこの中に水を満たして下から火で温めていたことを覚えている。これは、家族が入る温かいお風呂となった。 1948 Location possibly by the seashore. Notice the metal drum (barrel) caught between the large and small rock formation. During and after WWII these washed up on beaches throughout Okinawa. They contained various items including food and oil. The resourceful local people used the empty drums for various purposes.
